Meeting called to order by President Robb Gillespie at 4:35 PM.

President Robb Gillespie stated that the AAPG Delegate Packages will be sent directly by AAPG.

We have yet to nominate anyone for the AAPG “K-12 Teacher Award”. Tom Hoane will talk to a person he knows who teaches Earth Science and see if there is interest.

We have contacted the MSU Geology Dept. and made arrangements to have our Newsletter posted. The Chairman of the MSU Geology Dept., Dr. Taggart will be attending tonights meeting. Ken Petrie volunteered to visit the MSU Geology Dept. and encourage staff and students to attend the MBGS meetings. Bob Reynolds will go along with him.

At last months meeting the MBGS voted to send $100.00 to the AAPG Katrina Relief Fund. As of yet we have not been able to find a venue to send the check. The Red Cross or Salvation Army would be appropriate alternatives.

President Robb Gillespie led a discussion about the Geo-Pamphlets and stated that the WMU Geology Club would help the committee composed of Robb Gillespie, Tom Hoane and Tom Godbold. The first project will be Yankee Springs Park.

Robb suggested that we plan an Executive Committee Christmas get-together at Win Schulers again this year. Leonard Espinosa moved and Bob Reynolds seconded. Carried.

Vice President Bob Reynolds stated that the SPE will be supplying the speaker for next months meeting and the December meeting will be a report by our MBGS members on their Grand Canyon River Trip.

Treasurer Tom Hoane stated that we have $6,437.90 in our checking account and $5,485.23 in the Hi Fi Money Market Account.

Co-Fieldtrip Directors Mark Wollensak and Leonard Espinosa stated that the October 1, 2005 Salt Mine Trip was a great success and that we gained 14 new members because of it. Leonard stated that the Oil Springs/Petrolia Field Trip will be scheduled for next spring. A discussion was held about renting a bus for the trip. President Robb Gillespie suggested a field trip to Baraboo Wisconsin, perhaps with a WMU student geology group. All of the Executive Committee thinks it is a good idea.

Tom Hoane mentioned that licensure for geologists is probably a dead issue for the near future.

Discussion was held about making our website interactive and making it into a “blog” for Executive Committee member access. This would allow info to get onto the website quicker. We will see if our webmaster Greg Varnum can attend our next business meeting to discuss the issue.

President Robb Gillespie led a discussion about the Mosher CD contract. A revised contract was given to Bob Mosher for him to review and approve.

Mark Wollensak talked about our new insurance policy and the fact that it will need to cover field trip activities.

Leonard Espinosa moved to adjourn and Bob Reynolds seconded the motion. Carried.

                                                                                    Respectfully Submitted

                                                                                    Bob Reynolds
