After May 1 deadline will send out copies of all applications received. Officers should review them prior to our next meeting in May so they can be discussed and a decision made at that meeting.

Mike asked the officers what sort of speakers we are looking for next year? Response was it does not need to be petroleum based, a little variety helps bring in attendance from outside the petroleum industry. Mike circulated a list of possible AAPG Distinguished Lecturers, may send out e-mail to solicit preferences.
WMU now has an active AAPG student chapter. Their President, Audrey Ritter sent a letter to the MBGS requesting us to sponsor their student chapter. Motion carried for MBGS to be sponsor of the WMU AAPG student chapter. Tom W. will draft letter for Tom G accepting their request for sponsorship. Mike is liaison to student chapters.

Mark Nida, MBGS sponsored 2005 trip to Grand Canyon now has one boat full and no people on waiting list. Four cancellations balanced the four on the waiting list. Will run ad in the Oil and Gas News. Mark Wollensak may produce a guidebook.
Milt Gere brought up issue of our post office box at MSU. We briefly discussed pros and cons. No decision regarding its future.
Mike Grammer brought up new issue of imperfect document storage at WMU. Some publications have been water damaged. Other options could include DEQ at Filly Street or Tranter Building. Need more information as to volume of documents, which need alternate storage.
