Meeting called to order by Vice President Bob Reynolds at 4:40 PM.
VP Bob – Next months meeting will be at the new WMU Core Repository on April 5. There will be tours of the facilities, BBQ dinner and posters by students from WMU and possibly MSU.
May 8 meeting at Coyote Creek Grille with SPE speaker John Morgan on “LNG, What’s Happening and Why”.
Need to work on getting people to run for Officers for next year.
Bob will move to President
Tom H will continue as treasurer
Tom W will continue as newsletter editor for one more year.
We will need a VP, Secretary and Business Manager. Names were mentioned and we need to ask if they will run for office. Need to put ballot in April newsletter.
Treasurer Tom H stated that we have $5,541.08 in our checking account and $5,514.22 in the Hi Fi Money Market Account.
Business Manager Leonard has sent out scholarship materials to local schools. He had eight requests for the application form and has received one finished application.
Co-Fieldtrip Director Leonard stated that the May 20, 2006 Oil Springs /Petrolia Trip was all set and the registration form was ready. Tom H will send to Greg to put on the website and Tom W will put in the newsletter. Mark will check with our Insurance carrier to add trip to policy.
Elec. Pubs Mark has finished CD #5 that includes Oil & Gas Vols. 1 & 2 plus the Stratigraphic column and three other fieldtrip guide books. Bob will proof the CD for completeness.
Newsletter Tom W needs info for newsletter which will need to go out soon because April meeting is early in the month. He needs May speaker info, fieldtrip info and ballot for officers.
New Business – Leonard requested money to purchase copper to be given out at the DNR Bring Your Kids to Work Day. We will need approximately 200 pieces. It was moved, seconded and approved to spend $50 for copper for this project.
Old Business - Discussion on the bull horn for fieldtrips was brought up. It was moved seconded and approved to purchase a new bull horn for approximately $90. The old bull horn will be turned over to Tom W to attempt to refurbish the battery pack.
