We are still looking for a full slate of officers, considering Rob Gillespie from WMU and Jennifer Payne. Tom Wellman sent out scholarship notices and e-mails to the department heads and department secretaries of all Michigan Schools with Geology Departments. He sent an individual notice to Buddy Wylie. Tom will send a notice to Stan regarding question of registration of geologists as supported by AIPG. MSU trip to Marquette is on. From Mike Grammer, we still do not know the name of Jack Thomas’ talk.

Have purchased the insurance policy. Checking account balance is $8731.82, Savings account balance is $5409.12. We received a thank-you reply from the American Geological Institute and W.L. Fisher for our contribution to the Fisher Congressional Geoscience Fellowship Endowment Fund.

Tom Wellman

Distributed minutes and they were approved. He received a couple inquiries regarding the scholarships. Have tested scanning publications with Mark Wollensak. Decided on a format and will now test scan an entire publication.

Other Business

Mark Nida, MBGS sponsored 2005 trip to Grand Canyon has one boat full and 4 people on waiting list. Will run ad in the Oil and Gas News. Mark Wollensak may produce a guidebook.

Milt Gere brought up issue of our post office box at MSU. We briefly discussed pros and cons. No decision regarding its future.
